While we were in that spiritually “dead” condition, God saved us (verse 5; see also Romans ). Colossians reiterates this truth: “And you, who were dead in your trespasses God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses.” Since we are dead in sin, we are completely unable to trust God or His Word.

Revelation - “To the angel of the church in Sardis write:He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars, says this: ‘I know your deeds, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. However, if we remain in the vine, we will bear fruit and this fruit is evidence that we are not spiritually dead.

Jesus continues in verses“ I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. The word translated as dead in this passage is the Greek word NEKROS.

They were spiritually dead. A man without Christ is spiritually dead. Paul describes it as “being alienated from the life of God” in Ephesians (To be separated from life is the same as being dead.) The natural man, like Adam hiding in the garden, is isolated from God.

As I mentioned at the outset, there's a vast difference between those who are spiritually alive and those who are spiritually dead.

The Bible tells us that those who are spiritually alive "are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness" (1 Thessalonians ). To become spiritually alive means: 1. We Do NOT Come Into This World Spiritually Dead.

The wicked teachings of Calvinism never ceases to abound. One of its teaching is the first point of T.U.L.I.P., that says we are born with a dead spirit, which means that every infant is born with a dead spirit.

This first point is. Grace is a key theme throughout the book of Ephesians and it should be the key theme in our evangelistic preaching to those who are spiritually dead. God’s grace was revealed in the stunning fact that while “we were dead in transgressions” God “made us alive with Christ” (Ephesians ).
